Sense Sonnet - Acher

Down Deep

"Come spend a down deep day with me."
My Gram would call, and off we'd go.
I never knew what fun would be,
Just waiting there for us to show.
And, the end of each down deep day,
When it was time to go to sleep,
Gram would give me a kiss and say,
"We share a special love down deep."
I visit Gram when they allow.
It hurts to see her blankly stare
At me, a stranger to her now.
I hope down deep, Gram knows I care.

Though she's forgotten who I am,
I never will forget my Gram.
