Sense Sonnet - Pumper
Winter Walk
Chicago morning, six o'clock
In January wintertime,
I bundle up and take a walk
To Great Lake Michigan where I'm
Fully sensing the season of
The now of dark and wind and snow,
In place and time a walk I love.
Seeing the shoreline ice caps glow.
Hearing the lake waves hit the ice.
Tasting the snowflakes flurry by.
Smelling fresh, crisp air to entice.
Touched by the stinging chill supply.
Just a brief walk to avoid harm,
Then back to home where it is warm.
