Sense Sonnet - Acher
My Open House
The walls around my house I built
So thick and strong so none would know
Inside was lots of shame and guilt,
But no windows to let such show.
And then one day you came along,
Knocked at the door of my house and
I let you in though it felt wrong,
Which later I would understand.
For once inside, I let you take
All the walls of my house away,
Exposing my life as a fake,
The truth of me on full display.
My closed house I had counted on,
Now open and my world is gone.
