Sense Sonnet - Steamer
Have to Suffice Skating
Mom says that I am too young to
Go ice skating even though I
Tell Mom that all of my friends do.
But Mom tells me back with a sigh
That not my friends' Mom does she be,
Not her decision if they skate,
But it's her decision for me,
And her decision is I wait.
I know there's nothing more to say
To Mom to make her change her mind.
So I go to the front hallway,
The polished wood floor there to find.
It's pretend ice skating I've gone,
Slide on the floor with my socks on.
