Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Metamorphosis

My story started when I hatched

Out of an egg, then did begin

Eating leaves lots and weight attached.

Then I molted and shed my skin.

Next, spun me in a silk cocoon,

Hanging upside down on a twig.

Inside, I ate myself, till soon

Just the parts left that made a big

Change of me into a form new,

Especially with wings to add.

Called metamorphosis, I do

Now have all new from old I had.

A caterpillar once was I,

And now I am a butterfly.
