Sense Sonnet - Pumper

 Humbled with Age

He was as a young man quite vain,

And selfishly ambitious to

Use the military as main

Means to quick rise in rank to do.

But the young man struggled and failed

In each endeavor he did try,

Battles lost, commissions derailed

Made a very insecure guy.

Along this hard way he became

More humble the older he got.

With his coming success and fame,

He learned from his mistakes a lot.

George Washington's humility -

Chose not to be king he could be.
