Sung by Nick Drake before he died,

Age 26, his life gone wrong,

Pill overdose, his suicide.

From the morning, Nick sang, we rise

From the ground and off we do fly,

And play the game of life's surprise

Everywhere until we die.

Nick, playing the game of life, he

Was finding only dread and fear,

And so his mornings ceased to be.

From his song, these lyrics appear,

"And now we rise And are everywhere,"

This epitaph on Nick's gravestone  inscribed there.
