 Hope Heaven Cares

Young boy and old dog walk through town,

In winter night, so cold and bleak.

The icy winds come howling down.

A safe refuge the two do seek.

Only each other in this world

Do these two have as they do strive

To make due what cruel fate has hurled,

To find someway to stay alive.

An open church the two do find,

Uninvited on Christmas Eve

By any "devout" humankind.

Two lost lives and no one will grieve.
