Sense Sonnet - Pumper
On Their Own - LP Zoo
The black crowned night heron birds do
Fly north to Chicago so that
They'll summer at Lincoln Park Zoo
O'er wolves in friendly habitat.
While here in nests their eggs be laid
And hatched and young be given care.
When young reach self sufficient grade,
The parents fly back south, and there
Await time later in fall when
The young fly south instinctively
To meet up with the folks again,
A reunion of family.
And come next spring same birds will yearn
Same summertime and will return.
