Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Chacoan Peccarys - LP Zoo

Chacoan peccarys, we do
Bristle about the outside scene
Here at home in Lincoln Park Zoo,
Always with a busy routine.
From South America we kind
Are in the Gran Chaco hot plain,
Very few of us left to find,
Endangered in that wild domain.
A pig like mammal with strong snout
That can roll cacti to the ground.
Our teeth then pull the spines out,
A cacti salad - tummy bound.

Chicago winters here do mean that
No cacti grow in the habitat.
