Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Boudicca

Boudicca, widow warrior queen,
Of a proud ancient Britain land,
Sought to drive Romans from the scene,
Attacked old London, Roman manned.
She and her daughters led her force,
Slaughtering Romans all around.
The Roman leader fled, of course,
Back to Rome to make pleading sound.
Nero sent reinforcements to
Defeat Boudicca in the end.
But she became a symbol true.
Women warriors would one day trend.

Boudicca, statue with war crown
In London, which she once burned down.
