Sniper

In way back when, 'twas hard to kill
A shorebird that 'twas called a snipe,
And thus the word to fill the bill,
A sniper - a good shot with hype.
A sniper now is good or bad
Depending on the side one's on.
American - debate be had,
Good or bad depending upon
Was it glorious war of old
That's glamorized by Hollywood.
War fought for the right we are told.
More recent wars - hmmmm, not so good.

Sniper now is a killing word.
Nothing to do with any bird.
