Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Zebra Stripes

So many tales on how and why
The zebra's stripes are black and white.
Here's the scoop that should satisfy,
So all might have better insight.
The zebra used to have black spots,
When they were late to Noah's Ark.
The heavens opened and poured lots,
And caused the spots to stretch out dark.
The zebras did make it on board,
But when they dried out, black stripes stayed.
And compliments upon them poured,
Calling the change divinely made.

What's black and white and white and black?
A zebra rolling forth and back.
