Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Sunbittern - LP Zoo

A sunbittern, a bird I be.
South America fly my kind.
Lincoln Park Zoo is home for me,
A real cool place, so I don't mind.
With wings tucked in, I look subdued,
Feathers of a dull darkish tint.
But spread my wings, and multitude
Of red, yellow, blue spots present,
Which to predators do surprise,
Thinking perhaps they should retreat
From such a beast with monstrous eyes.
Fooling such critters is so sweet.

In the Bird House, this sunbittern
Has not one bit of a sunburn.
