For Want of a Great War

It started with a single kill
Of throne heir Archduke Ferdinand
Of Austria, causing ill will
With Serbia, cuz understand,
A Serb was one who fired the shot.
So those two countries went to war.
Russia joined with Serbia's lot.
Germany, to even the score,
Joined with Austria, and then came
France and Britain and Italy...
A single death was said to blame
For ten million more deaths to be.

History calls it World War I.
No doubt the world is still not done.
