Sense Sonnet - Steamer

Name that Patriot

In revolutionary days,
Whoever fought the British Crown
Was deemed patriot to praise
For earning risk it all renown.
Love and support of country then,
Was patriotic word and deed.
The U.S.A. became - that's when
Patriot claimers disagreed.
We the People kept close to war.
The first patriots chose to fight.
So what had been success before,
Was surely patriotic - Right?

A patriot of U.S.A. -
Hard to be but easy to say.
