Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Dr. Benjamin Rush

George Washington, he criticized
As a general quite inept,
Then he later apologized,
And to himself, such thoughts he kept.
And even treated Washington
For varied ailments which he bled,
Believing bleeding must be done.
Washinton's death hastened, some said.
He was quite anti slavery,
Believed that blacks could be made white
If cured of a skin leprosy.
Well intentioned, but was not right.

Dr. Benjamin Rush, his name,
Founding father without the fame.
