Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Hidalgo

Hidalgo, a mustang, did star
In Buffalo Bill's Wild West show.
But then let me take him off far
To Arabia in the flow
Of the Ocean of Fire long race.
Three thousand miles cross desert sand,
With all that horse and man could face.
Hidalgo took me cross that land
To win that race, and home we went.
We used the purse to free mustangs.
Hidalgo too, who did consent.
I felt both sorrow and joy pangs.

Descendants of Hidalgo be
Still running wild, still running free.
