Sense Sonnet - Pumper

Trumpeter Swans - LP Zoo

In 1868, we came -
Two trumpeter swans - what to do
In Chicago, and so to fame
We turned into Lincoln Park Zoo.
Happy on the city's north side,
Just a paddling around the pond,
Could spread white wings many feet wide,
And watch the city life beyond.
1871, we saw
The Great Chicago Fire burn by.
We just watched the whole thing in awe,
Safe in water - no where to fly.

The Zoo is still the place to be,
So much fun stuff to do and see.
