Sense Sonnet - Acher

Paternoally

In life, as college football coach,
I won the hearts and souls of young.
To fame from game I did approach,
Climbing to glory on sure rung.
I only looked up, never down,
What others did while in my time,
While in my happy valley town,
No matter how heinous a crime.
I hoped that such would not be caught
While I was still alive and well.
Ripping my glory all to naught.
How could I bear such life in hell!

In death, I am pained memory
For my cheerleading family.
