Scuttle the Shuttle

Endeavor to go to L.A.
That's where I'm being retired to,
To a space center, so they say,
To be a sight see peek a boo.
The rest of the shuttle gang is
Getting shipped off to other spots
As tourist cash cows - that's show biz.
We're gonna miss each other lots,
And miss the flow of time and place,
Sharing some worst but mostly best,
Hurtling into the outer space,
Returning home from gloried quest.

No fun, retirement's gonna be -
A bunch of tourists pawing me.
