Sense Sonnet - Acher

Toll on the Tombs

Egypt's ancient burial grounds
Are targets in the lawlessness.
Looting children are making rounds.
The history - they could care less.
Children know not of what they do.
They only mimic older ones,
Behaving in a manner to
Take from the past daughters and sons
Of Egypt as a great empire.
Because the Egypt of today
Wreaks havoc like a forest fire -
The burning toll - no one can say.

Centuries through the sands of time
To modern fate of childrens' crime.
