The Big Nine

The U.S. Supreme Court has had
An above it all history.
The nine mostly old white men clad
In black robes as mini gods be
Giving the last word from on high
Of the U.S. Constitution,
Whether laws do or do not fly,
Impacting lives of ev'ryone.
On the Court is a lifetime gig,
But getting picked to be on is
Dancing a political jig.
It can be a real nasty biz.

The Constitution is the way
That nine folks at any time say.
