Sense Sonnet - Steamer

Hatshepsut

I, Hatshepsut, took power from
My stepson, who was not too pleased.
Egypt's pharoah I did become,
And new lands and peoples I seized,
Building monuments to my fame,
Over a 22 year rule.
The world should ever praise my name.
Stepson - I should have killed that fool.
I suffered disease and I died,
And the throne passed to my stepson,
Who ordered my name be denied
With all this she pharoah had done.

Egypt, better because of me,
Forced to erase my memory.
