Sense Sonnet - Steamer

All Wet

I fell into the flooding creek.
The current pulled me fast downstream.
Dad was nearby and heard me shriek.
He jumped in, and I heard him scream
For Granddad, who I could see there
On the bank, and he had a rope.
And Granddad was closer to where
I was. He saw me, but the dope
Ran back to help Dad, who could swim
A whole lot better than I could.
I managed to grab a tree limb,
And get out, cursing fatherhood.

Hey Dad, Granddad - what about me?
No thanks to you, I got lucky.
