Speak Not So Easy

I don't remember when I last
Made a phone call to a place that
Was considered business classed -
It wasn't hold right off the bat.
Why do they ask, "Would you please hold?"
If I say, "No, put me right through."
There is a pause at words so bold;
Then Muzak blares as if on cue,
Interrupted once in a while
By a soothing computer voice
Saying, "Be patient," with a smile.
But, maybe there's a short cut choice.

Sometimes when I curse and swear,
I hear quicker from humans there.
