Sense Sonnet - Tickler

Dropping By

A new neighbor moved in next door.
So I stopped by to say hello.
I took along a small encore.
My poodle, Pepper, got to go.
She welcomed me and asked me in,
But looked at Pepper with some doubt.
He gave her his "I'll be good" grin.
But, I felt that he should stay out
On the porch. As I put him down,
He made a beeline straight inside;
And did a dump in earthy brown
On white carpet. I could have died.

My good intentions turned to oops.
But, that's the way the poodle poops.
